Polaroid Camera Icon
I'm going to attempt to do a tutorial every day from the Tuts+ membership I had.
For starters, here is a Polaroid camera made from scratch in Photoshop. I started following the tutorial, but I didn't like the way the lens looked and modified the flash and a few other things as well. You can check out the original tutorial here: How To Draw a Vintage Polaroid Camera Icon Thanks for looking. =)Sunday, May 1, 2011
CD Angel Wings
I entered a contest on SuperMediaStore.com. I'm hoping to win for originality.
I sketched this idea then created it out of CDs, CD cases (the clear part to hold the strands of the wings together), hot glue, fabric and elastic string. It is VERY hard to cut CDs without fracturing them. I used a blow dryer to heat them up at first but then discovered it was easier to let them soak in hot water. It was difficult for me to find so many CDs to destroy errr.. make into something better... otherwise I'd have entered sooner. I love how these turned out and when I shrug or raise my arms, the wings take on a whole new shape. It's very cool.Tuesday, March 1, 2011
Mermaid Illustration?
Yeah.. I'm not sure about this one. Just threw this together in Illustrator because I'm worn out from font creating. It's.. The Little Mermaid meets troll doll meets Poison Ivy? I dunno... =)

TaD28: Butterfly Pins
These are some simple butterfly pins I made out of some scrap fabric, glue, a used fed-ex envelope and a sharpie pen. Reduce, reuse and that other one. =)This is the last Thing-a-Day post 'til next year.. but I will attempt to make a post every day still! So keep tuned!
TaD27: Monospaced Font
Another font attempt. This one was made in Illustrator and Font Creator. I made 236 glyphs (characters) Yes.. it took foreverrrr. =)
Thanks for looking!

TaD26: Handwriting Font
Been experimenting with making my own fonts for the last few days. This one is just made with a sharpie, then scanned and edited in Font Creator. I had this one half way done and Font Creator crashed. I probably lost 2-3 hours of work. Making fonts is extremely time consuming.. it's no wonder rights to professional fonts are expensive. >_<
Thanks for looking! =)
