I'm going to attempt to do a tutorial every day from the Tuts+ membership I had.
For starters, here is a Polaroid camera made from scratch in Photoshop. I started following the tutorial, but I didn't like the way the lens looked and modified the flash and a few other things as well. I entered a contest on SuperMediaStore.com. I'm hoping to win for originality.
I sketched this idea then created it out of CDs, CD cases (the clear part to hold the strands of the wings together), hot glue, fabric and elastic string. It is VERY hard to cut CDs without fracturing them. I used a blow dryer to heat them up at first but then discovered it was easier to let them soak in hot water. It was difficult for me to find so many CDs to destroy errr.. make into something better... otherwise I'd have entered sooner. I love how these turned out and when I shrug or raise my arms, the wings take on a whole new shape. It's very cool.
